**Restaurant Review: Charred – A Culinary Experience Worth Exploring** Charred has quickly become a restaurant to explore for its unique ambiance and varied menu. Diners have praised the delicious pimento cheese cornbread and inventive pizzas, while cocktails offer a delightful twist. Although service can be inconsistent, many guests noted attentive staff and a warm atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. While some dishes have been criticized for lack of seasoning or limited options, the overall quality and presentation of the food are noteworthy. With a charming vibe and strong community spirit, Charred promises a memorable outing for those seeking elevated cuisine in a welcoming environment.
We finally checked this restaurant off our bucket list tonight. The food was decent, although a bit pricey. We started with the meatball appetizer, which was quite tasty. For our main course, we shared the white chicken pizza, and I was quite happy with both dishes. We ordered a lemon dessert but received the crème brûlée cheesecake instead, which turned out to be really good. However, I wasn't very impressed with the service. I'm not sure if I'll make a second visit, as our bucket list is long, but if we do, there are a few more things I'd like to try!
The prices are a bit high, and unfortunately, I wasn’t really impressed with the food. It was just average for me. On a positive note, I appreciate that they donate $1 from every pizza sold on Mondays to charity. The meatballs lacked flavor, and the Margherita Pizza was nothing special. Interestingly, I found that both tasted a bit better the next day. The Brussels sprouts were dry and also just okay; adding balsamic glaze improved them slightly, but I generally prefer steamed Brussels sprouts over roasted ones. The Orange Crush (or maybe it was Tangerine Smash?) was also just alright. I've heard many people rave about this place, so perhaps it was just an off day for me or the restaurant. I'd be willing to give it another shot in the future.
The ambiance is fantastic, and the background music adds to the atmosphere. There's plenty of space both inside and outside, and they even have a private room for small gatherings equipped with a large projection screen. The servers are attentive, although the service was a bit slow, likely due to ongoing staffing challenges. Despite the hour-long wait for our food after being seated, it was absolutely worth it. Everything arrived hot, well-prepared, and beautifully plated. Every dish was delicious. The owner, James, stopped by to ask for our honest feedback; he was very friendly and even offered us a discount for our candidness. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we will definitely be returning.
It is. DO DINE FOR. At first when you walk in it gives it a country/hipster vibe to it. The staff are full of wonderful nice waitresses who make you feel welcomed. The drinks are very well sweet and amazing, and oh mu goodness the Brussels sprouts. THEBRUSSELS SPROUTS. I’m not a fam but I ate about 20-30 spoonfuls of Brussels sprouts. Well seasoned that makes it addicting. The corn bread. Mmph. Let me tell you if you want that taste of the after church potluck with the corn bread your grand mamamade, Chil’ I promise you the corn bread is worth it. You also get to meet wonderful folks who are also dining in as well.Highly recommend going here. 5/5 stars is totally worth it for this restaurant!!
The food is generally good and there's something for everyone! I love that we have an establishment like this out here as it brings elevated cuisine you see nearer/in the city. My favorites are definitely the scallops, cornbread, and shortbreadrigatoni! The cocktails are a little on the sweet side. A great for a date night if you want to stick around Midlothian. Servicecan be hit or miss depending on who you get.
