Located in the same building as the bar and gift shop at the former Jameson's distillery, now called the Jameson Experience, Malt House is a delightful restaurant with an outstanding menu. Although it took some time for our menus to arrive, the service was excellent overall. We both ordered the fish cakes, and they were absolutely delicious. View all feedback.

The service at Malt House was outstanding, but the fish and chips fell short of expectations. I had planned to come back after my tour, only to discover they close at 3:00 PM. With a tour ending at 2:00 PM, it’s challenging to have a proper meal there. View all feedback.
During our visit to Midleton for a Jameson distillery tour, we weren’t sure where to eat lunch, so we chose the Malt House restaurant. It proved to be an excellent decision. The setting is delightful, ideal for a midday meal. The staff were warm and welcoming, even offering us samples of whiskeys comparable to those from the tour. The food was tasty and fairly priced, with the seafood chowder and pulled pork standing out as highlights. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the distillery.
The food at Malt House is as remarkable as their Irish whiskey. If you choose the Fish Chowder, make sure to ask about the portion sizes. The starter is served in a hearty bowl with fresh bread, while the main course arrives as an enormous serving, almost like a small pond with a freshwater shark swimming in it—truly massive.
Regardless of whether you join the Distillery tour, be sure to dine at Malt House. It serves some of the best food I've ever tasted, even when compared to Dublin. The seafood chowder was exceptional, and the roast pork, pulled pork sandwich, and chicken pot pie were all delicious. Every dish was rich in flavor and served steaming hot. The drinks were top-notch, too.
