We had an early sitting, midweek, but the restaurant was still full. The food was overall excellent. The grilled calamari was excellent and the veal excellent. The only drawback was the spinach was overloaded with garlic. We noticed there were many other customers who also left the spinach. Desserts were excellent. I have the social citrus pudding. Tightly packed tables and friendly waiters make for a celebratory atmosphere at this superb Italian restaurant. The food was superb, the Barramundi sublime. It was a perfect venue to celebrate a 21st birthday with mothers and daughters.
We visited for lunch and it was one of the most beautiful meals I've had in a long time. The Garlic Mushrooms were to die for and the Muscles were fresh, amazing and plentiful. Will definitely return. So good!
Amiconi has been in operation since 1961 and it is a Melbourne institution and my wife and I have dined there many times over the years.The food and service is outstanding and always has been. I think most of the patrons are mostly local people from Melbourne who just like us are returning customers.I couldn't recommend Amiconi highly enough
Atmosphere was good Food was average from my standpoint; I judge an Italian restaurant by the quality of its Tiramisu, which was very disappointing here The price of food was over the top for my liking $19 for a very ordinary side salad!!! Total cost ended up being ~120 per person Plus, please don't bring us bread when we didn't ask for it, and then charge us for it!!! I think they knew we were there for a work dinner, and ended up fleecing us a little Price per person: $100–120 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
A nice cozy atmosphere. Was an amazing dinner that didn't leave you feeling heavy. The pasta was amazing but the gnocchi was the best I've ever had. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
