very good location experience, exquisite dishes, service especially by juan carlos. a magical place with sea views. has a special consideration for us. incoming: lobsters to the chin, clams. Main dishes: salmon and squid on the plate. desserts: cheesecake and carrots. Roded wines. View all feedback.
Eating was very good to choose amazing variety. the food came very fast, although not many other people around so quiet, but still I liked the location and the restraint was very nice. only a warning that it is not very busy, but if. they want a quiet beautiful night out, it is perfect.
Our daughter took us to D. O. Mar for a treat. The setting is beautiful and we were excited to be seated at our table expecting great things. The meals were purchased through Groupon so perhaps this affected the way we were served. The...service was a little haphazard and the food unfortunately was very underwhelming. The starters were unbalanced with far too much Russian salad with very small pieces of fish which was quite hard. The main course of lamb was served completely on its own with no sauce, no vegetables and the main course of fish was served with just tiny pieces of fried potato. The whole meal was not executed very well and the service was sloppy. Our hobby is visiting Michelin starred restaurants and although the culinary director Oscar Velasco is described as a Michelin starred chef this ranks as the worst we have visited. Our poor daughter was extremely upset with the whole evening.
This used to be Les Cubes,but all that’s left of it is the sculpture outside. We went to the newly established D.O. Mar on a Tuesday evening and initially were the only couple there. One other couple entered a bit later. Such a shame as...the setting is beautiful overlooking a Beach Club pool onto the sea and palm trees. Interior also lovely. As there were more staff than diners the service was first class. The menu is really fish based with only a few mains for other tastes. We received a bowl of the most delicate crisps we have ever tasted plus a terrine type taster which was very good. We shared a starter of calamari rings—about the norm and also a special of whole grilled turbot which was prepared at the table. Apart from the very rubbery outer skin it was well cooked and not overdone. Desert was a bit of a let down but adequate. Price high but fair considering the increase for the whole turbot. My G&T was powerful—unusual in a high end establishment. Very sad to see the lack of customers but weekends might be better. If not watch for another change of name.
D.O.MAR is the restaurant that has just opened in the gold mile. has the oscar vesco chef (2 stars michelin) as a gastronomic director and specializes in the local product and productions to the grill.
