Feedback
Verdi, located within the Royal Albert Hall, seemed like the perfect spot for a pre-theatre meal. However, many diners were disappointed by the lack of atmosphere and rushed service. Despite some tasty dishes, the quick turnover of tables and lack of live music left much to be desired. Some even found the lack of restroom facilities and disruptive street drinkers to be a major downside. On the other hand, those who visited during a special event with live music had a much more enjoyable experience, with great food and a pleasant ambiance. Overall, Verdi seems to be hit or miss depending on the timing of your visit and your expectations.
The food was excellent from appetizers to pasta , pizza to dessert I would recommend the slow cooked duck ragu. Staff were helpful and courteous We went on a Friday night so we also had live entertainment which adds to the place's charm. The only thing I believe could have made the experience even better was if the songs played were more familiar
There is no toilet facilities for restaurant customers. Restaurant customers must use public restrooms with different people who drink beer in the street. Some of them very unsocial ... Punks, freaks... So it is impossible to have evening dress dinner there....
We went on a free music friday and it was a lovely ambience and setting. They had gluten free pizza and gnocchi which was great and whislt they were decent, they weren't amazing. Would highly recommend for a pre performance meal or just an unusual setting.
Booked Meal Friday's music event for 8pm. Pianist did not show up. No music at all. (Not even background music). Ambience poor as most people seemed to be there for event. We were looking forward to the meal event as we were only in London for 4 days. Would not really recommend cheese platter as there is hardly enough for one person, never mind to share. Main meal was fine. Staff were pleasant. However, manager did not advise that the pianist was not coming until well after 9pm. Customers seemed to leave quite soon after that. A disappointing evening.
A combination of lousy food and awful service for an afternoon teaTruly a waste of your time, and some money.
