Situated on the site of one of Limerick's oldest pubs dated back to 1724, The Locke Bar offers a cozy and historic setting, overlooking the Abbey River with old wood paneling and open fires. It is the perfect place to unwind in any season, and a must-visit in Limerick. The Locke also serves as an excellent private party venue, with 5 private bars including The Loft, able to accommodate up to 350 people for various occasions. The Locke Bar offers a wonderful dining experience with a wide variety of delicious food at reasonable prices. While the bar service may sometimes be lacking, the overall impression is positive. With live music that may be a bit too loud and some room for improvement on desserts, the restaurant shines in terms of atmosphere and food quality. The terrace BBQ was disappointing, but the indoor dining experience was much more positive with friendly staff, regular check-ins, and a great gluten-free menu. Overall, the Locke Bar is a popular spot in Limerick with a vibrant urban atmosphere and efficient service.
Nothing was labeled on the menu for breakfast. The server was knowledgeable about celiac but I got sick from eating only the eggs and potatoes. I wouldn't eat here if you are sensitive.
Wonderful authentic Irish Pub with delicious gluten free beef stew and fries. Not a huge menu overall, but a couple GF options and a worthy atmosphere.
Very helpful staf and knowledgeable. Enough gluten-free options. Had the cheeseburger with fries and it was very good. If the staff isn’t sure they will check with the kitchen for a double check.
Very busy place, clearly reflects the popularity and strengths with the food. Had the grilled plaice (however had been replaced with lemon cod) which was delicious. The menu shows “coeliac friendly” and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly.
