... im Sinne von: ein einfacher, solider Inder. Kein Schickimicki-Laden, die Einrichtung ist ebenfalls recht simpel gehalten, viele Details wären verbesserungswürdig. Ein Wand ist mit gerahmten Bollywood-Plakaten und Serien geschmückt. Portionen sind mittelgroß, einfache Mini-Salate gibts auf dem Teller dazu. Das Tandoori-Chicken ist offenbar nicht aus einem Lehmtopf im Ofen, sondern Hähnchenstücke am Spieß mit Tandoori-Paste bestrichen. Das Curry ist mild, auf den europäischen Gaumen abgestimmt. Man isst zu zweit mit je 1 Getränk dazu für ca 25-30 €.
Das Safran bietet eine reiche Auswahl an Gerichten mit, aber auch ohne Fleisch. Die Portionen sind angenehm, nicht zu groß, machen aber auf jeden Fall satt (wir fühlten uns danach angenehm, nicht überfressen). Die Hauptgerichte waren fein abgeschmeckt, der Beilagenreis aber etwas fade. Preislich sind die Gerichte im Mittelfeld (die meisten kosten zwischen 9 und 11€).Das Personal war freundlich und entspannt, allerdings war auch nicht viel los (obwohl Freitag Abend!). Dementsprechend mussten wir auch nicht lange auf unsere Bestellung warten. Die Einrichtung ist angenehm "dezent" für ein indisches Restaurant.

We went here for dinner. The Entrees of samosas and potato cakes were delicious with the sauces they provided. We ordered saagwala and butter chicken had a different name on menu they were good. Good portions and taste. Chicken seemed a little oily. The naan..
The service was attentive and the food arrived quickly. The ambiance, with incense and music, was quite pleasant. Unfortunately, the food wasn 't to my taste. I 've been to India several times, and here at Safran, the Indian food is very Germanized. I would have liked more spices. More flavor.
All vegetarian dishes can also be made vegan. Cream, palak paneer, and even the malai kofta, which are normally made with paneer cheese, are available in vegan versions. A real treat! The portions are also pleasantly sized and ample. Only the incense sticks weren't to my taste. Highly recommended.
