Very good food. service was attentive, without being overlaid, very friendly and welcoming. Nice talk.
My wife and I sat down for a lovely dinner at Max Enk on a Saturday night in June, our last on our trip to Germany.We were sitting on the patio, we had order the calf's liver and the Leipziger allerlei, both of which were very well prepared and tasted excellent.Then the sky open up and a torrential downpour had all of the patrons standing huddled in the centre of the patio umbrellas trying not to get drenched.The restaurant staff emerged with umbrellas to get all of the diners into the main restaurant to continue our meals.I would eat here again any time.
Although our food was fine, it was nothing to write home about. The service was attentive but not warm or very welcoming. I found the avant garde decor to be very distracting and almost unsettling - like I suddenly found myself in the movie Beetlejuice. It was not the most tranquil of places. The wine list was good and was probably the best part. Keep you money and spend it somewhere else. Leipzig has a lot more to offer.
A true delight! Superb food, impeccable service. We come regularly for small or large events – or even just to try the new weekly menu. Addendum: I cannot confirm the negative review of the New Year's Eve menu from the previous review in any way and find it completely inappropriate considering the obvious effort put into the evening, both in terms of the kitchen and the service. Regarding our experience: We had reserved a table for 5:30 p.m. and received an exceptionally warm welcome. We consulted extensively with the sommelier about our beverage selection and ultimately chose a perfect pairing for the menu. The entire staff appeared relaxed, confident, and in no way overwhelmed. Between courses, they checked in with us to see how long we would like the break to be (so much for the accusation of being rushed through). All the dishes were cooked to perfection, and the sequence of courses harmonized beautifully. For us, it was a wonderful evening – ending around 10 p.m.
Food 10/10. Wine served directly by the sommelier, his selection also 10/10.
