The Mountain Hostel in Gimmelwald was a welcomed and fantastic destination for lunch. After a long hike down from Mürren, it looked incredibly beautiful to us! It had friendly and helpful service as well as a mid-afternoon menu with numerous options. Our thanks to the Front Desk at the Hotel Eiger for recommending it to us. My wife and I hiked up to the restaurant, which took a little less than four hours from Murren. The hike was definitely worth it but the food was very average at best. It was tasty but overpriced and small portions. We only ate because how often can you say you had lunch at 10,000 feet. We would not eat their again.
