I went to that restaurant wanting to have fish and chips, but was disappointed to see a big sign on the window saying they only accepted cash. This was ridiculous because I had only my card with me. I had paid by card at the same place two weeks ago, so I was very disappointed. With cash going out of circulation soon, I believe they are losing many customers because of this policy. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
I am sorry to say that despite this restaurant having received awards in the past, the food was far from impressive. The chips were soggy and lacked flavor, and the curry sauce I requested was nonexistent. I had to make my own curry sauce at home to make up for it. The pie was supposed to be Hollands but I doubt it was.
The food was cooked fresh, but the portions of chips were small. However, it was probably for the best as the chips weren't very good anyway. The pie was also very hard. It was disappointing, especially considering it was recommended to us.
Stunning food and service. This is the place for fish and chips in the Lancaster locality. I will keep coming back.
Do you like your chips cooked? No they weren’t! Do you like a fish choice like other than cod? No sorry just cod!! I like my chips cooked; you know break a chip open and its not still uncooked in the centre these were so uncooked as to be plainly anaemic in colour. Simply put when we mentioned a takeaway next time We wanted one and the first comments were: “NOT BLACKS’S CHIPS!!!”
