**A Tasty Yet Mixed Experience at Captain D's in Jasper, AL** Captain D's in Jasper, AL serves up a variety of seafood dishes, particularly noted for its well-prepared whitefish and battered options. While some patrons rave about charming service and cleanliness, others report disappointing experiences marked by unkempt dining areas and poor customer care. Incidents of finding foreign objects in food and lackluster staff attitudes have led some diners to reconsider future visits. What is this? Not to mention the fish was brown? And tasted bad. Okra was good though and sweet tea was good. Question, what has happened to the size of the fish?
Some say the Jasper, AL Capt. D's is the most frequented in the nation. (Probably not. They do have well prepared whitefish, especially if you like it battered fried. Quick, kind, courteous service, healthy green sides too. It is what it is, CaptainD's.
I visited on November 9, 2020, and ordered the ultimate spicy fish plate. I was surprised to find hair in the fried okra—definitely not a pleasant surprise! As a result, I received two free meals for my next visit, but I have decided I won’t be returning.
I returned to Captain D's today hoping for some improvements, but I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. The staff appears to lack pride in their work and seems to view customers as an inconvenience, even for simple requests like condiments. The restaurant was dirty; as I made my way to my table, I saw leftover food on one of the tables, and it looked like no one was bothered to clean the others nearby. There was food on the seats, tables, and even the floor. It's really disappointing.
I visited on November 9, 2020, and ordered the ultimate spicy fish platter. To my astonishment, I found hair in the fried okra, which seemed to be considered a "bonus"! They did offer me two free meals for my next visit, but I have no intention of going back!
