**Dining Experience at a Jackson Gem: A Mixed Bag** Nestled in the heart of Jackson, this restaurant offers a blend of delightful dishes and frustrating service. Very nice. Although a little short staffed as is every business...Victoria, our waitress, was attentive and kind. The food and water was good.
It is a beautiful place. We went to a Bourbon event. The food was served family style. There was a lot of things to try. My favorite was the salad and the desserts especially the chocolate pot de cream.
Wonderful experience. Great food and wonderful service. We had a problem with the staff being overwhelmed and slow with the service but the restaurant more than amply made up for any inconvenience that we might have had. The buffet was very good and had a wide variety of meats, vegetables, seafood and dessert. I highly recommend that if you are in the Jackson, Miss. area that you reserve a spot for the Sunday Brunch.
I was not impressed with the food or the service. We were a group of thirteen with a 7 PM reservation. We were seated promptly, and basically had the restaurant to ourselves. We had to ask for water — and had to keep asking, as no one was payingattention. It took a good half hour before the waiter took our entree orders. Our waiter disappeared so often, we joked thatperhaps he was also the chef... Entrees were served at 8:50 PM. My pasta with shrimp was inedible due to the heavy use of spice(and I like spicy food). Others in the group reported cold soup. I would not eat there again.
The staff at this restaurant are incredibly friendly. The oysters and desserts were excellent. Personally, I think the entrees could benefit from a bit more flavor, although taste can be subjective. The hotel's library lounge is also quite impressive.
