We had reserved a table for two two days in advance. Upon arrival, the first question was whether one hour would be enough time for us! Let's put it this way: if we want to eat quickly, we go to a fast-food place or use a drive-thru. When we said no, despite our reservation, two tables were pulled apart, and we were squeezed into a small table between two others. Two other guests who arrived after us were seated at a table for four. They were obviously regulars, who were greeted very warmly. It didn't exactly make us feel welcome. Regarding the food: The stuffed bifteki was tasty, but definitely too small (about the size of a small woman's hand). The meat on the mixed grill was inexplicably piled on top of each other. It came with white rice, a dollop of tomato sauce, and tzatziki. We had to order fries separately, which at €5.50 wasn't exactly cheap. At these prices, we expect fries and rice. Regarding the ambiance: Visually appealing. However, it was very cold and drafty. The ambiance: Visually appealing. The restaurant wants to differentiate itself from typical Greek restaurants.
Greek hospitality and excellent food! Northern Germany was in a snowstorm, and we were right in the middle of it, stranded in Itzehoe on our way home. Hungry, exhausted, and in a bad mood, the five of us arrived at Athina late that evening. Even though the kitchen had already closed, we received a warm welcome. We enjoyed delicious Greek food and were all thoroughly impressed with the food and drinks at Athina. The prices are fair and more than reasonable. We give it ten out of five stars and are very happy to write this review. And thank you again for the wonderful Greek hospitality.
