The Shor restaurant, now rebranded as The Buffet, has had a tumultuous reputation. Patrons report a disappointing New Year's Eve experience marked by high prices and rushed service. Despite a lovely atmosphere and moments of delicious offerings, such as coconut shrimp and pineapple pie, inconsistent service has marred the overall dining experience. While some diners enjoyed memorable meals and attentive staff, others faced booking issues and unhelpful management. With changing menus and a shift in quality, potential visitors are advised to seek out alternatives in Waikiki for a more rewarding culinary encounter.
If it wasn’t for our server Ryan and the beautiful sunset and music, this would have been a 1 star review. We booked this dinner we’ll in advance for NYE. One week before we were told the regular menu would not be offered and a gourmet buffet would be served. It was too late to find a replacement reservation. The food was OK but the cost of 149 per person was outrageous for what was served. The shrimp still had shells on them and the fish was over cooked. I can’t say enough good things about our server. He saved the evening.

We were so saddened to hear that they don’t have the buffet here anymore! But they’ve made up for it with the new menu! Restaurant has indoor-outdoor style seating. We sat outside and enjoyed the cool breezes. Jimmy was our server and he was outstanding-personable, knowledgeable and pleasant. Food was amazing.
The Shor is no longer in operation and has now been rebranded as The Buffet, which offers Korean Kalbi-style BBQ. We arrived on time after confirming our reservation online, only to discover that The Buffet did not have our reservation. We were told we could wait for a seat at the bar, as there were no tables available for two hours. We decided to dine somewhere else, as there are plenty of options in Waikiki.
