This restaurant is located in the small (and very beautiful) village of Hinterzarten. We got there by accident but found a rare eating experience. Prufer's restaurant is a superb restaurant serving great and tasty German dishes. We went there in order to diversify our local hotel restaurant. The food was very good served on nice dishes. Menu is only in German but the owner translated to English. The food is a little on the expensice side but worth the cost
This was one of the best meals I have ever had in Germany (and I've lived here since 2010). I am originally from Sydney but have worked and travelled all over the world. This is some of the best fusion cuisine I have ever sampled; the combination of ingredients is impeccable. The flavours are sublimely balanced, beautifully presented and the service is the perfect balance of personal and professional. Wine selection is wonderful,and the food is locally sourced. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. I am writing this at the table directly after enjoying the 5 Course evening menu,the portion sizes were perfect; generous but not overwhelming, and fantastic value for money given the quality of the food!
We went there with friends to diverse our hotel restaurant. The food was very good as well as the serving. It is a small restaurant and the owner is the waiter. Unfortunately as menue changes with season and availability it is only in German.
There is not much to say about "Prüfers Gasthaus" it's just perfect! I can say a visit is it worth best food that I ever tried definitely one of the best restaurants in hinterzarten maybe the best
