We visited the Elvetham with a group of friends for our annual Christmas party and the first time the Elvetham.We were not disappointed, as the location is impressive, with a great party atmosphere, good food, and good Christmas package all with a great value for money.What is worth registering in this hotel after Christmas.Many history associated with the hotel, so it would be an ideal weekend getaway. Full marks for location—such an elegant place and could imagine arriving here as a house guest in Edwardian times for a bit of fishin’ and shootin’ though I don’t like either. Really nice airy restaurant with lovely views of the well maintained gardens which you can walk around before or after. Sadly the food doesn’t match the surroundings and greatly overpriced. We visited for afternoon tea and were greeted warmly by both the reception and restaurant staff. We were given a box of tea bags and a pot of hot water to prepare our own tea in cups and saucers, although it was not clear where to dispose of used tea bags. The sandwich selection was good and accommodated our dietary needs, but the fillings were a bit sparse. It would have been helpful if the cling film was removed from the sandwiches and the contents were explained to us. The scones and pastries were decent but not exceptional, and we felt that there could have been more provided. We would have preferred to receive two scones per person rather than sharing one plain and one fruit scone between two people. The overall experience was okay, but we were somewhat disappointed with the food and service. The building and grounds were beautiful, and we enjoyed the views, but we did not feel that it was good value for the price compared to other similar hotels where we have had afternoon tea.
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The rooms are large and well equipped. The staff and facilities are excellent. The breakfast was of a good quality and there was plenty to choose from. The surroundings are beautiful.
This hotel has the surprise factor. On arrival by car on a beautiful long street with impeccable lawn, to be received by a wonderful house and patio.All about it is great, from Elvetham the sculpted ceilings to the stairs.We stayed here on two occasions, and also attended a dinner also works. The staff is very cozy, and delicious food. There is also a very nice bar that has all the original features, just a place to stay.
Attended our friendship group Christmas Dinner with family and friends.There were about forty (40) of our group and their friends, the food was good,the service was excellent.The atmosphere was pleasant,warm and friendly.
