Widnes Fish - Halton
Widnes Fish
Description
Paul's Chippy in Widnes garners both adoration and criticism. Many patrons rave about the exceptional fish and chips, highlighting the freshness and taste, and appreciate the friendly service and immaculate cleanliness. Regular customers often commend the generous portions and the restaurant's longstanding legacy. However, some experiences mar this favorable reputation; complaints about soggy, undercooked chips and long wait times occasionally surface. Despite these inconsistencies, the eatery remains a beloved choice for locals craving hearty takeout, with many declaring it a must-visit for both fantastic flavors and nostalgic charm.

This place is fantastic! I can confidently say that it is not only the best fish and chip shop in Widnes, but in all of Halton. The food is exceptional, the staff are wonderful, and they always go above and beyond to please. Our son refuses to eat anywhere else and we are willing to travel from Runcorn every time we fancy takeout. This restaurant truly deserves 5 stars for their food and I cannot recommend it highly... What gerard032 dislikes about Widnes Fish:
Went to Pauls chippy one Monday evening the food was average I got the salt and pepper chicken noodle box but there was only about 5 pieces of chicken in it.The order system needs to be sorted as well because I ordered my meal over the counter and people were coming in and ordering Chinese meals over the counter and getting served before me. We have used this chippy all year. To our horror, we ordered food 2 1/2 hours ago on Christmas eve. We have just chased our food and told they have closed. Shocking service. We will will not be using this chipy again!!!!
Guys cook your chips I arrived home with a tray of mashed potatoes. Not nice, I respect you need to serve quickly but when I ask for chips that's what I want
Went to this shop on Friday evening, not mad busy, I ordered plaice and chips and was told by the young girl who served me it would be a few minutes. Half an hour later after watching many orders being completed, still no food.I called to the young girl who took my order, she looked at me then turned to serve another customer. I walked out and wont be walking back in...EVER.
