What Tom G dislikes about 2 Doors Down:
The promotional photo for the restaurant shows a thick burger with plenty of extras. In reality I was served a burger that may have had 4 oz of beef on a small bun. With extra bacon and salad (not fries) my bill came to $25 plus tax. The service and atmosphere were just okay. View all feedback.
Spacious seating for small and big groups. Full bar service. Great selection of appetizers and food and drinks. Ask the waiter for their daily feature. The vegan cream of mushroom made with oat milk was delicious. The calamari was a bit dry but still good. The scallop and mussels spaghettini was well flavoured. Enjoyed the micro green garnish. The scallop was a little over done. Service was great, checked with us how each dish tasted and apologized for the food delay. I would recommend checking this place out.
Cute place with nice size menu, with both servers fun to talk to. The Kale Caesar was good but not great. The Burrata Salad was very good except for the Burrata! The pickled asparagus was unusual and very good as were the olives, zucchini and tomatoes but the cheese texture and seasoning were lacking. The Scallops with Arancini were very good but the Lobster Gnocchi for me just good. The place isn't necessarily a 4 but it wouldn't be right to rate it a 3. Give it a try and see what you think.
After walking around the Citadel and downtown, we came across 2 Doors Down. We had the old school smash burger and the smoke house smash burger and two nine locks beers. The burgers were awesome. Reminded me of Hudson's Burger in north Idaho which has been around since 1906. So good. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was super friendly and attentive.
The service was super friendly. The food was outstanding. I had the smash burger (perfection! with the hot honey onion rings (perfection also! . The wife had the seafood chowder w a biscuit (magical and we split a halloumi broccoli salad (amazing . Hope to visit again. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $50–60
