Stopped in at the Greta Valley Tavern for lunch on the way to Christchurch and have no problem saying that this was the best meal we've had in a long time. The meals were huge and everything was cooked to perfection. The sirloin steak was exceptional and reasonably priced. Fossil Point where we have eaten many times was closed,so we went up to the Tavern for lunch Greeted by one of two people,then she disappeared, and the younger person was too busy filling in a form to bother serving us.
