Our menu offers sustainable seafood, fresh salads, and refreshing beverages like Balter beer and Barokes wine in a can. Come by directly from the boardwalk to order, sit down, or take away. Inspired by the classic Australian summer at the beach, we're excited to welcome you back to St Kilda Beach for the spring season. Afternoon snack on Stefano Kilda's seafront .. great fish and chips! Very nice place, on the beach, benches made from logs .. really nice atmosphere! Excellent value for money. A nice memory! View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Paper Fish:
Bland tasteless fish in overcooked tasteless batter. Probably the worst fish I have ever tasted. And people around us were saying the same thing. Spend over $100 and are forced to throw out in the bin. Avoid. Other reviews either fake or very very old. View all feedback.
My partner ordered the gummy fish with sweet potato fries, while I chose the blue grenadier with sweet potato fries. We also enjoyed a delicious granita. My blue grenadier was incredibly tasty, juicy, boneless, and flaky, making it some of the best fish I've had in a while. The sweet potato fries were good, but a bit dry. My partner’s gummy fish was also good, but my dish was the clear winner. The location of the restaurant is fantastic and the service is excellent. With a minor improvement on the sweet potato fries, this place would be perfect. The prices were very reasonable considering the quality of the food and the beachfront setting. I highly recommend a visit to this place.
Awesome location! Loving the vibe of the restaurant. The calamari rings were bomb. They were tender in the inside and crispy on the outside. Very tender. <br/ <br/ I got the gummy and blue grenadier fish. Juicy and well seasoned.
Paperfish may be a hole in the wall down by the beach in St Kilda, but it’s a gem. Forget the truly woeful offerings in nearby Acland Street, or the other overpriced places around- if you want fish chips or prawn tacos, go here. The fish was fresh, the Japanese potato cakes are awesome and there’s crinkle cut or sweet potato chips. I also had a reasonable glass of Rosè. Next time I will try a granita, which you can also have it with vodka or gin. Totally recommend.
Such a cute spot we happened to stumble across. We were just going to enjoy a drink but I noticed a Fish Taco for $6, and thought I’d grab one to try (for the gram ha! . OMG I’m so happy I did, it was so delicious!! Fresh fish cooked to perfection! The slushie drinks were fab too. I can’t wait to go back!
