A Mici
Description
Nestled in Gateshead, this charming Italian eatery boasts a welcoming atmosphere, with friendly, attentive staff who create a family-like environment. The menu features a variety of classic dishes at reasonable prices, making it a hit for budget-conscious diners. Popular starters, such as potato skins and goat cheese, receive high praise, while fresh bread complements every meal. Most main courses, although satisfactory, don’t quite reach exceptional levels. Nevertheless, diners appreciate the attentive service, including thoughtful gestures during special occasions. While some improvements could be made, the overall dining experience invites return visits, ensuring a solid reputation within the local community.

I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The staff were excellent and I would highly recommend it to anyone in Gateshead. You must give it a try, you won't be disappointed. It's just a shame that it had to close down due to issues with the landlords. View all feedback.

I have visited this restaurant three times now. The staff are lovely, friendly, and funny. The food is better than most of the expensive, pretentious restaurants in the Newcastle area. They serve high-quality, authentic Italian dishes at a very reasonable price. They also have a good selection of wines. Overall, it is unbeatable. I really enjoy it.
This restaurant is straightforward with extremely friendly and attentive staff. The menu features all the classic Italian dishes and offers great value for the price. The starters, especially the potato skins and goat cheese, were delicious. The fresh bread served was also delightful. However, the main courses were not outstanding. Even though we requested for an ingredient to be omitted and it was supposed to be confirmed, it was still included. The mains were just average. Despite this, I would consider returning but would opt for a safer option from the menu next time.
Had lunch here a number of times with hubby and have never been disappointed. The staff are welcoming and friendly, good value for money. I have recommended this to friends who share my view. The only criticism I have is that the menu does not offer gluten free meals as the norm, although they always cater to your needs. Give it a go you wont be disappointed.
Greeted by the owner as we entered, we were made to feel at ease, I get the feeling it's a family run place, service was fast despite there being a table of 20 eating at the same time, the owner was very hands on coming over to the table every 10 mins to check up on us, a chef even popped his head out the kitchen to check up on the tables he could see which was a nice touch, good food and excellent service will advise it to any one !
