"A Bite of Shandong" restaurant offers a unique dining experience reminiscent of traditional Chinese eateries of decades past. The shabby decor and authentic 70s-80s style furniture create an atmosphere of nostalgia. The traditional dishes, made to perfection with no Western influence, may not be for everyone but are highly appreciated by those seeking authentic Shandong flavors. Handmade noodles and dumplings are a standout feature of the restaurant, though the owners' arrogance can tarnish the overall experience for some guests. With a mix of great and not-so-great dishes, highlights include Pighead Meat with Cucumber, cold steamed noodles, and jumbo oysters. The Special Steamed Cold Wide Noodles and BBQ Lamb in Skewers receive special mention for their delicious flavors and generous portions. Despite the basic decor, the food at this local gem is described as amazing and reasonably priced. Customers have praised the tasty dishes and friendly service, with a minor complaint about table size being the only downside. Overall, "A Bite of Shandong" offers a truly authentic taste of Shandong cuisine for those willing to look beyond the unassuming exterior.
What Keara Little likes about A Bite of Shandong:
Very pleased with this authentic Shandong cuisine. Don't be put off by the decor as it may look a little old school, but oh my! THE FOOD IA AMAZING and priced reasonably. Must try the flat rice sheets/noodles in sesame sauce, delicious! View all feedback.
What Gudrun Legros doesn't like about A Bite of Shandong:
Some great dishes and some not so great. Would recommend the pig head meat (let's call it pork cheek) and slapped cucumber, cold steamed noodles and jumbo oysters. Wasn't impressed with the lamb skewers at all though. The taste wasn't quite right and a fellow diner queried if what he was eating was lamb, which... Overall it was okay. Authentic Shandong flavours and pretty good service for the area. View all feedback.
