Feedback
**Restaurant Review: A Mixed Bag of Experiences** The recent dining experience at this restaurant has drawn a range of opinions, revealing an establishment struggling with consistency. Guests noted unappealing portions, particularly with the roast chicken and carvery, where overcooked vegetables and thinly sliced meat left much to be desired. Service issues were prevalent, with long wait times and inadequate staffing contributing to dissatisfaction. While some patrons appreciated the friendly demeanor of the limited staff, many felt the overall ambiance was tired and the meals overpriced. Despite the charm of friendly service, the lack of quality and quantity may deter future visits.
Ambience pleasant quiet, although the restaurant is somewhat tucked away within the hotel no nice views to be hand. Service friendly competent, but very slow just as well we weren't in a hurry. Food was good, quite a varied menu I thought a little overpriced, but not significantly out of kilter with the competition.
I was quite disappointed with my experience. My partner ordered the roast chicken, which came with just two thin slices of turkey on the plate. The service was lacking; we had to wait to be seated and there seemed to be minimal staff on duty. The restaurant was only half full, giving the impression that it was only partially open. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. I did voice my concerns and received a 15% discount on the bill.
Great eating and service, just a problem, music playing in bar and restaurant was different, so it made a bit loud, maybe playing a song in bar and restaurant?
The website advertised a set menu for Sundays, but when we arrived, we learned that it was actually a carvery. To be honest, it wasn't very good—overcooked vegetables and tough meat. The staff serving the food seemed unhappy, and they could definitely offer larger portions. Our bill came to over £60 for three meals and three non-alcoholic drinks, which I don’t think was worth it. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.
