For just £12, you’ll enjoy a hearty main course, sourced primarily from our neighbors on Magdalen Road. It’s all about robust flavors, not fat-free fads or vegetarian alternatives. As for the drinks, we don’t skimp. Our wine selections are paired thoughtfully with each dish, offering three options at varying price points. Whether you choose a cheeky glass of our house red at just £2.50 or indulge in something more extravagant starting at £7.50, there's something for every palate. And if you’re lucky, I might whip up a pudding, but if time doesn’t allow, we promise a delightful cheese board instead. Pair it with dessert wine or port for an additional £7.50, because a meal without a little indulgence isn’t really a meal at all. I am never disappointed when I return from Iain's restaurant. He always chooses the perfect wine for my meal and budget.
If they are looking for another night, don’t look for it! book a table in Smith’s wines and leave the fantastic and really charming owner iain, cook a meal and recommend accompanying wein. I've been visiting smiths for some time now, but... just for the wee who never disappointed. I could finally book a table (in the did, the table, since there is just one that is just for a group of six. we had an amazing evening, it turns out that iain is not only a great selector of fine wine, but is an equally talented cook! a really funny and other night out. highly recommended.
During our visit to Exeter, we decided to look for a wine shop. Luckily, we found Smiths, which was conveniently located near where we had lunch. We asked the staff for a specific type of wine, and they provided us with a variety of options at different price points. It was exactly what we were looking for before heading into the shop.
I called smiths weine to order a few bottles for the delivery (currently Covid-19 lock-off.) iain was very well known about the great selection to wein available and a fantastic selection of quality wine was delivered within a few hours. I can't be happier!
I took my boyfriend here for dinner from recommendation. And so glad I did. First of all the grounds were beautiful and so was bovey castle. Staff were welcoming. Food was lovely and enough on plate. Glad we dressed up (although didn't have to) but...thought nice too as it was a beautiful place. We stayed on for cocktails and drinks (although very pricey). We were lucky enough to get a night porter to take us back in a very nice land river as no taxi available. Would love to come back
