excellent experience. the new managers are very kind and affable. the hotel has the characteristics of a mountain hut with wooden furnishings. very clean and beautiful. very abundant breakfast with types of cakes made by their apricot tart, cherries, grandmother's back, plum dog and chocolate cake. yogurt, sliced, brioches, eggs, cereals, juices and much more. we ate dinner and we were given despite we arrived at the... What Anonym dislikes about Col Serena:
I booked for 2 nights as a solo traveller my rest day after hiking for 2 weeks! first night was in room 31 (single room) which was a cramped room with no bedside light, uncomfortable creaking bed, broken toilet and a smoke alarm which flashed all night right above my head as ceiling so low. The new owners are kind and friendly. It is a beautiful hotel in an amazing location with good sized rooms that were clean and comfortable. The food was delicious, and the bar and lounge area was fantastic.
I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I wasn't knowing what to expect, as I've never been to this part of Italy, which is so close to Switzerland (please be aware that when you come from Switzerland on the motorway you are charged 28€ and are subject to inspection by Italian authorities I didn't take the St Bernard pass, but will when I return, and heard it's longer but free). Etroubles used to be French, therefore it has a French feel, but is thoroughly Italian. The food at this hotel was spectacular (some of the best bites of 2022). Etroubles is a strategic jumping point for this part of the world. This hotel is run by a wonderful couple and their experience in hospitality shows. ENJOY!
The people who runs the hotel is extremely nice and welcoming, the service was great and they were very quick to adapt to a large group arriving. We enjoyed our short visit! We did not stay the night, but I'm sure that we would have enjoyed that too!
One of the best Hotel on the valley. Daniel, the owner , is going to wArm welcome you and help you planning your stay. Weather you are an alpine ski geek or a motorbiker you will be paper it up by him! Let them stay with u.
We stopped at this cozy restaurant on our way back to Italy. We were not disappointed the food was freshly prepared and delicious. The owner was very courteous and the staff very friendly. The prices were reasonable. Wish to visit again to try other food on the menu.
