I have visited Ocean Bowling several times before, but today was a special occasion for a family birthday event. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, going above and beyond to bring out a birthday cake with sparkler candles. The family had a fantastic time bowling. We went to the restaurant just before it closed for the night and wished we had arrived after it closed because the meals were very disappointing. We paid £14.95 each and expected better quality. No staff checked in on us during our meal, which was surprising. We have had great meals there before, so it's a bit inconsistent. Hopefully, you have better luck if you decide to eat there. We attended the Halloween potion class at the restaurant, which was a lot of fun. The children enjoyed a lengthy session of soft play followed by the potions class, which they thoroughly enjoyed. They were captivated by the process of making the potions and were delighted to take home their creations in bottles. The amusing labels on the potions made them laugh, and they cherished their certificates. It was definitely one of their favorite days during the half term break. The event was well organized and offered great value for money. Despite being a busy time due to half term, the soft play area was not chaotic. We had brought headphones just in case it got too loud, but they were not needed. We even booked an extra soft play session because the kids did not want to leave, as they were having such a fantastic time. We have been patrons of Ocean soft play for some time now, as it is always clean and well-maintained. It is our preferred soft play venue in Devon. We have attended numerous family events at Ocean and particularly enjoy the Family Fridays, which are affordable and full of silly fun. The events are always well-organized and we appreciate the bonus of being able to sleep in on Saturday mornings after attending.
£3.75 for a three-quarters full cup of overly-sweet hot chocolate. Extortionate in my opinion. I won't be returning.
I arranged a corporate party which was held at Ocean in the Ocean suite in early October 2023, from start to finish the whole process went perfectly. Any request I made was never too much issue and I found the events staff friendly and very accommodating to my ever changing plans. On the night of the event everything went smoothly, the food was delicious we had 3 different starters and 3 main courses and I heard nothing but compliments about all of them. Service was fantastic and all the small details were on point. This is the second event I have planned at Ocean and they have always impressed me, I wouldn't hesitate to return. I'd like to give a big shout out to Jimi-Dean and Sandra in the events team, you guys are just wonderful at what you do. Well done team Ocean
