Achelya - DOCKLANDS
Achelya
Description
This restaurant has received mixed reviews, with some customers feeling let down by the quality of the food, while others found the portions to be generous and satisfying. Despite the negative feedback regarding the atmosphere, particularly the presence of people smoking hookahs, some patrons had pleasant dining experiences with delicious meals such as lamb stir fry, mixed grills, and authentic Turkish dishes. The service was friendly and efficient, although the decor was criticized as being outdated. Overall, it seems that while some customers were disappointed, others found the food to be tasty and the service to be adequate, leading to a diverse range of opinions about this establishment.

Was Claudia Zimmerling at Achelya a mag?
After reading some concerning previous reviews, I was worried that we might need to stop at McDonald's after dining at this restaurant. However, I am pleased to report that we were pleasantly surprised. Despite not receiving the large portions typically found at a traditional Turkish restaurant, we left feeling satisfied. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly. We are looking forward to returning on a Sat... View all feedback.
What Christ Koepp dislikes about Achelya:
* we bought a Groupon voucher and thought it was quite reasonable.so we wanted to try it out inspite of the bad reviews.....Bad Choice!!!!Please don't bother! The 'Entree was OK but the Meat selection was tasteless with no quality whatsoever! The dessert was 2 tiny 1" piece like Turkish delight!I honestly believe its not worth trying out.Very disappointedno value for money!.
Great service and good food. very affordable and accommodating. highly recommended for couples, families or groups.
Visited here today with a scoopon voucher for sharing a dips, seafood plating for and glass wein. it started ok with the dips that were very tasty, but as so often they are never given enough brot. the expectation of a seafood plate... what came next was a surprise. a bowl with chips, Calamari rings and tartaric acid sauce, next came something from the smallest scallops, small overcooked garnel and barely muscle in a slightly spicy red sauce, what this was a bowl salate? consisted of mixed leaves, chunks and some carrots and finally very thin fish fillets. that was all that people share. I admit, I just paid, but I paid for it before and much more. if the quality of seafood had been better, it might not have been so bad.
Atmosphere appealing, service excellent, eat very well. we had the fish that was delicious, mixed grill and all meat tender, dips and halloumi grilled. eating was good and that counts. shocked by the people including women smoking pipes
This was our place for a casual meetup with some friends. Despite the bad ratings, we did hit the place up anyways as one of my friends stated that he did have a good experience. A very spacious area and nice ambience to cster any crowd. They do also set up tables outside upon requirement.<br/ <br/ My friends got the Doner kebab and I got the kavurma. The main reason we hit this place up was sicne the portions were famously large.<br/ <br/ However this wasn't the case here, yet the meats were quite delicious. Was very impressed by the Doner kebab which wasn't too oily and still tasty. The kavurma was a chicken Lamb stir fry which was close to a Chinese Szechuan flavour.<br/ Both were quite good and tasty though I'd go for the Doner next time.<br/ <br/ All comes with a rice, some salad and a tasty chutney on the side. Too pricey though it was a good experience. I'd definitely go for the mixed grill the next time I'm there to fill myself up. I'd recommend it to for a nice family outing/catch up if you're in the vicinity.
My friend and I tried the metre long kebab which is a selection of mixed grilled meats on a long tray which comes with rice and salad. Everything was freshly cooked and tasted so good our Turkish cravings were definitely met and then some. The dips were really good but the bread was divine! Also the baklava was super moist. This place is really good, I’ll be back for sure!
