Nestled in the heart of the city, this restaurant has garnered a mix of opinions. While some diners rave about the elevated French cuisine and attentive service, others express disappointment over the cramped, loud atmosphere and high prices. The menu, though unique and creative, has faced criticism for limited options and an absence of traditional French desserts. Despite the ambiance resembling a school cafeteria, culinary highlights like duck confit and homemade pastas have delighted many patrons. Overall, while some find the experience outstanding, others recommend exploring alternative dining spots. Your dining experience may vary significantly.

I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the wonderful dining experience I had at your establishment. The service was exemplary, and the food was not only seasoned to perfection but also presented beautifully. I particularly noted how the staff efficiently cleared the table and cleaned up after each course, which added to the overall pleasant experience. However, I would like to offer a small suggesti... What Tracy dislikes about L'ostal:
Very cramped, insanely loud and uncomfortable seats, not to mention a ridiculously expensive wine list however the food and the service were good Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1 View all feedback.
This was hands down the best gnocchi I’ve ever tasted, and the escargot was fantastic too. You really can’t go wrong with the second courses. We ordered the duck and steak, both of which were delicious. The demi-glace for the steak was spot on, and the duck was moist and expertly prepared, perfectly seasoned without being overly salty. They even make their own horseradish. I've been here at least five times, and each experience has been excellent. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

I am not sure if I am confused or it was a Very disappointing Experience! As the web says this concept is meant to be French, not inspired in France, French! However a real and auténtico French restaurant might not be worth the risk. The menu shows this too, not even French desserts. I would say it is a “European” inspired restaurant. Service was impecable as expected when you pay $25 for a 6oz glass of wine, however the decor and ambiance are well behind. We had a delicious homemade Pretzel, Pastas and gnocchis. Overall not worth the drive so we’ll keep trying others….
