Was User at Mayfu a mag?
We just ordered the Beijing style meal for four, and it was fantastic! The ingredients were extremely fresh, and the aromas were delightful. I believe the price reflects the quality of the ingredients used, which makes it worth it. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We'll definitely return the next time we're in Hemel Hempstead. The fish and chips were absolutely terrible. The fish was flavorless and soggy, and the chips were extremely overcooked. I struggled to eat even a few bites before my jaw started to hurt. Have been using Mayfu takeaway for a number of years, but probably not for around 12 months. Decided to treat ourselves the other night, so went to an online menu and then telephoned the order through. Having placed an order for six items, the first disappointment was that what I had added up to be £29.40 was actually £39.40!! I was informed there had been a price increase just before Christmas, OK, understandable that prices do go up but by that much!! Between 27% 85%, ridiculous, how can that be justified? The delivery was left on our doorstep, no knock or doorbell, we only found the meal due to another package being delivered. The duck was overcooked, the batter around the prawns was too thick, the vegetable rice was stodgy, the chow mein, chop suey, squid curry sauce was fine. The meal was too expensive, if it had been good quality it might have been acceptable, but it will be a long time before we try another meal from there.
Ordered take away from them. I must admit their customer service through telephone was atrocious. I’m betting my food will be that tasteless too. Never going back. I spent £18 with them too.
