Description

Despite some positive experiences, recent visits to this restaurant have left diners frustrated. Orders for scrambled eggs were repeatedly mistaken for omelets, while service was lacking in attentiveness and friendliness. In contrast, the hashbrowns were praised as some of the best in the state. The overall ambiance of the local spot with a gift store was noted as a positive aspect. However, a lunch visit proved disappointing with dirty dishes, poorly maintained menus, and cold, stale food. Inconsistent service and quality appear to be ongoing issues at this establishment.

The worst cookies and gravy I've ever had. the so-called meat tasted and resembled dog food. the cookies were not completely cooked. very sad

I went to lunch today and it was a terrible experience. from beginning to end. the waterglass looked like it had not been washed by the last customer, the menu had dried eating on it and was greasy feeling, it took 15 minutes until my waitress came back and asked what I wanted to order and my eating came cold and stale. never!

Twice I went to order scrambled eggs and I got what looked like an egg omelet….first time I thought, ok…let it go. Yesterday we were there and it happened again…when the waitress served us not happily I must say) I told her I ordered scrambled eggs…she rudely said they are scrambled…she never came back to the table so we could tell her potatoes were not cooked and we needed condiments…she finally showed up when she brought the bill…I don’t get it…if they can put scrambled eggs in the breakfast buffet which they don’t always have) why can’t they make a separate order??

We enjoy coming to this restaurant for breakfast. The hashbrowns are freshly made and some of the best in Minnesota. It's a wonderful local spot with a fun gift store attached!

A must-visit and local tradition in Cross Lake! I am never disappointed.
