**D'Onofrio's: A Mixed Bag of Delightful Dining Experiences** Nestled in Crane Village, D'Onofrio's caters to vacationers seeking a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant offers a cozy ambiance, whether indoors or under a rain canopy outside, and features a reasonable wine selection. While many diners praise the friendly service and flavorful dishes, there are notable frustrations with the reservation system; guests often find their online bookings unhonored despite confirmations. Although the food garners positive reviews—such as the delicious chickpea soup and well-prepared pasta—some dishes fail to meet expectations, leaving diners with mixed feelings. Overall, D'Onofrio's offers a blend of enjoyable meals and areas for improvement.
Do not book a table through an open table. the restaurant says that it is set with open table. despite the confirmation, our reservation was not honoured. we have a table after negotiations. opentable has no help line and the setting of the restaurant was not our problem.
This restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere for dining. However, the frustrating part is that we are urged to make reservations online and receive confirmation, only to find out there’s no record of our booking when we arrive. This happened at two different locations. They really need to improve their system.
D'Onofrio's provides a delightful experience in Crane Village, appealing to vacationers. Whether you’re dining with family, friends, or just a partner, you can expect friendly service and consistently good food. You have the option to eat indoors or outside under a rain canopy, and their wine selection is quite reasonable.
I love eggplant so I ordered their version. It was not to my liking so I ate the vegetables. The waiter noticed that I ate only a small section. He apologized and offered to have it removed from my bill. I appreciated that.
We visited while on vacation in Barbados. Overall a very nice experience. Negatives: Foccacia bread was more like a soft roll and was not authentic Italian bread at all. Mussel appetizer was very skimpy both mussels and clams with 3 of the 5 clams, and one of the mussels completely shut. This is a BIG NO NO as that means that they were either not cooked or dead. Brought it to the servers attention and she returned with EXACTLY 3 clams and one mussel opened, but in a different sauce. (She should have comped the appetizer or returned with a FULL order). Zabaglione for dessert was not a rum and egg custard at all... but a lemon tart instead..again, not authentic Italian. Waitress was not knowledgeable about the drinks. Positives: Cream of chick peas soup was delicious...Pasta was cooked al Dente and flavorful. Mushroom risotto was on point. Received a complimentary brownie sundae for our anniversary.
