Weavers - Coventry
Weavers
Description
Weavers Balti Bar & Grill offers a mixed bag of experiences for diners. While many applaud the delicious and plentiful dishes, such as the chicken murgh masala and bhuna, others report unfortunate incidents, including safety concerns with glass in food. Guests appreciate the refurbished, cozy atmosphere and friendly service, particularly enjoying the 50% off deals midweek. Portion sizes are generally generous, but some have noted inconsistencies in quality, with certain items arriving cold or lacking flavor. Overall, Weavers stands out as a promising option in Coventry’s Indian dining scene, drawing both loyal customers and curious newcomers.

This is the worst Indian food I have ever ordered and the price for it is outrageous. I paid £18 for one curry, rice, a naan, and an onion bhaji. The onion bhaji was cold, hard, and small. The curry was described as spicy but it was just a salty, watery, bright red mess with a couple of whole chilies thrown in for good measure. The rice was flavorless and the container was only half full. The garlic naan was undercooked, cold, and soggy from the garlic paste slathered on top. This was a complete waste of money and I am extremely disappointed.
Love coming here for a curry, lovely food and staff and even nicer now it’s been refurbished , lovely surroundings, and very reasonably priced
I have been a customer at this restaurant for a few years now and have also used their takeaway service. I have never been disappointed and have never had a bad curry from here. The refurbishment they did was fantastic, creating a really nice and cozy atmosphere. The staff are friendly, excellent, and very knowledgeable about the menu.
I had a wonderful evening at Weavers with my three brothers. We had previously dined at some more upscale Indian restaurants in Coventry, so my expectations were not very high. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious poppadoms, chutneys, shish kebab, and Indian scotch egg as starters. All of us enjoyed our main courses, especially my chicken murgh masala which was exceptional. One of us had the tandoori mixed grill, which was tasty but lacked deep marinade penetration. Overall, the food quality at this new restaurant was on par with its more expensive counterparts, but at a much lower price. I would definitely visit again when I am next in Coventry. Five stars well-deserved!
Went along after a friend recommended it, it looks newly decorated modern and smart, staff where super friendly and very helpful, beer was lovely only one I was driving now the important stuff FOOD We had starters Nagris kebab which was really good, my wife had samosas also really good and tasted as if they where made on the premises , then the mains, I had a Mergi Massala and couldn't fault it, really Tastie a good portion, fried rice and keema nann shared with my wife my wife had jelfrazi which was also nice but not as nice as the Mergi, still a really good curry . Only problem was it was spiced and the chef had roughly chopped I guess three green chilli's so there where bits of green chilli about 1.5 long which will melt your teeth, so I suggest asking that the chef chops it smaller or pick out the big bits, still it gets a 10/10 from me, hope it doesn't change as I WILL be going back, if it changes I'll let you know.
