Feedback
Selminas has built a reputation as a small, lively spot offering tapas and Mexican-inspired plates alongside an accomplished drinks list. Guests praise the colorful, cozy interior, the back garden and upstairs nooks, and the friendly, attentive staff who help create a buzzy, celebratory atmosphere ideal for nights out and special occasions. Cocktails and wine are frequently singled out as highlights. However, popularity brings crowding: the space is compact and can be loud, and a few visitors reported uneven food temperature, portion expectations and feeling rushed at the end of their meal. Overall, Selminas is a spirited addition to Spon Street that many diners return to for atmosphere and drinks, even if consistency can vary.
Our waiter was super friendly and made us welcome immediately. Great menu with good varied dishes. Many Mexican restaurants have only a list of 3-4 fillings that they wrap in different ways. Selminas is characterized by the actual variety and taste in every bite. Appropriate price with their tapas offers at 3 for £16. Good cocktail menu, and very generous with the suits and decorations, with large pieces of fruit. The decor is bright and interesting, but not too overdue or sticky. I love the wallpaper.
Nice restaurant! Really good vibes the food is amazing! I've got the Rippburger and it fucked! Wine and cocktails very tasty little warm upstairs! But very definitely worth a visit!
Absolutely love this restaurant !! I've always enjoyed the hospitality since it opened, last week was the first time I had been with the new menu for father's Day and it was as amazing as always.. Very friendly staff and very very warm welcoming. I will always keep this establishment in my top 5 places to go for a special occasion or just if I am passing by and feel like a good feast. Very well managed! Thank you.
I dined at this restaurant twice recently: once with my husband, and then again with a friend who I had mentioned it to. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. The fajitas were particularly tasty, and the white wine complemented the meal perfectly. I was initially unsure about the type of cuisine offered at this restaurant, but I'm glad I decided to give it a try as it has become one of my favorite places to dine. Coventry doesn't have many restaurants like this one, aside from chain establishments, so it is a welcomed addition to the dining scene. While I would love to see dishes like Tlayudas and tamales on the menu, what we did have was fantastic, colorful, and filling. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, and the interior is charming. I enjoyed sitting in the back garden on a sunny day, but the upstairs area is also cozy and colorful. Keep up the great work!
I have been to this small and cozy restaurant with friends three times now, and each time has been a pleasant experience. The cocktails are very good and there is a nice variety of food to choose from. However, on my most recent visit, the ending left a sour taste in my mouth. The waitress abruptly brought us the bill and asked if we were paying by card, seemingly pushing us to leave quickly. It would have been appreciated if she had given us a gentle reminder that we needed to vacate our table after 1.5 hours, as it felt quite rude to be rushed out without warning. Another table near us had been there since we arrived and was still there when we left, making the rushed service even more frustrating. Overall, the restaurant has great drinks and food, but the service at the end of our meal was disappointing.
