Millennium is a vegan-friendly restaurant located in Durham, England. I visited once for a sit-in meal and had a good experience. The dansak I ordered was a bit too sweet and syrupy for my taste, but the other vegan dishes we shared were delicious. My partner enjoyed their madras as well.

Was Anonym at Millennium a mag?
This is a fantastic curry restaurant located next to the amazing Fram Ferment tap house and bottle shop. They offer a variety of vegan options, and we were impressed with the poppadoms served with mango chutney, lime whip, chili whip, and wobble salad. We enjoyed the veg madras, mushroom madras, mushroom dhansak, and Bombay kartoffeln with two portions of plum rice. It was the perfect amount of food for three people... View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Millennium:
I came here to dine in the past. My Dansak was a bit too sweet and syrupy for my taste, but we also tried some other vegan dishes. My partner enjoyed his dish, but mentioned that he had tasted better versions elsewhere. View all feedback.
The food at this restaurant was delicious and satisfying, but the service needs improvement. We had to repeatedly ask them to speed up, and even then it took two hours for our meal. It seemed like most of the attention was on takeout orders, to the detriment of the dine-in customers. Even when we tried to order drinks, the wait staff seemed more focused on takeout orders. Overall, the food was wonderful, but the service definitely needs work.
Tasty takeaway food for a business meeting. Complements to the chef and food ready as planned for the collection. Owner and staff all very engaging. We will return! David M
Suburb as always. Great service. Hot and cooked to perfection. My number 1 takeaway and restaurant in Durham
First of all this is the first review I’ve made on trip advisor but last nights experience was so bad I feel the need to comment. I have eaten in the restaurant previously hence my decision to order a takeaway. Don’t get me wrong in the current climate and on New Year’s Eve you expect a delay but things went from bad to worse. I placed my order via The Millennium website and the order was processed with a fixed time slot of 60 minutes.(minimum time preset on website) I turned up on time at 8.00pm and was told they would get my order. No mention of things running late . Nothing happened and as it was very busy in the waiting area i had to wait in the restaurant area meaning there were now a room full people waiting for orders. 8.20pm After patiently waiting for 20 minutes another customer asked politely where his order was and joked he would be getting a divorce as he had been waiting since 7.30pm I appreciated they were struggling so I asked if I should call back but was assured my order would be ready at 8.30pm. Nothing happened and the most annoying part was 3 other customers called in and collected their orders while I was still waiting. During my wait I was chatting to another customer who had ordered the day before! Again several customers seem to have bypassed him and he collected his ordered 50 minutes later. 8.45pm I query my order again and ask how other customers who arrived recently were being served, I was told mine is being bagged and another customer who ordered for 8.30pm collects his order 8.55pm I’m now looking for a member of staff to ask for a refund as the whole experience as made me loose my appetite and still no order 9.00pm 1 hour later my order is ready The biggest gripe I have was the complete lack of organisation and orders being issued randomly, the young guy who seemed to be in charge didn’t even have the courtesy to apologise. The food I had a mixed kebab which was okay while my partner had the worst and driest onion bhaji’s. The main course of chicken balti and a Lamb jalfezi turned out to be disappointing. Not a great way to spend your New Year’s Eve
I usually recommend the food at this restaurant, but not tonight. The portion sizes were very disappointing (see picture of our salad below). Normally, we love the Madras dish, but it was too tangy tonight. Despite this, we will be back out of loyalty and hope that the food will be back to its usual standard.
