Situated in a charming village in northwestern Connecticut, this restaurant offers a six-course fixed-price meal, serving dishes in a tapas style. It is open from Friday to Sunday, April through December, with dinner starting at 7 PM. Although the experience was enjoyable, I found it didn’t justify the high price. Many of my courses, which were supposed to be served hot, arrived lukewarm on cold plates—a particular annoyance for me. Additionally, some dishes lacked flavor. All guests receive their courses simultaneously, and our table seemed to consistently be served last, which likely impacted the temperature issues. Unfortunately, two dishes, the mushroom soup and the shrimp and sea scallops, contained sand. On a positive note, the presentation was lovely, and the service was attentive. The restaurant has a BYOB policy, which is a nice touch, but the prix fixe meal costs $140 per person, including gratuity. With a seating capacity of fewer than twenty, I understand the higher prices, but I felt the overall value was lacking.
