The food was inconsistent, overall just average. While the service had an enthusiastic vibe, it was mostly ineffective. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks, even though there were five waitstaff for nine tables. Overall, it was quite disappointing considering the cost of over $100 per person. View all feedback.
Since new ownership this restaurant has improved to be one of the best in the area. Simple good menu excellent wine list and friendly wait staff.
We waited 45 minutes for our first drink. The food, drinks, and service were all quite average, yet the prices were excessive.
I had a delightful meal, although it’s worth noting that the menu hasn’t changed in six months. The service was good.
The prices here are quite high for food that is just average. The kids' menu items actually looked more appealing than those on the main menu. Two of us ordered Mulloway fish, which turned out to be tough and lacking flavor. The other two had soft shell crab, but it was heavily battered and served lukewarm. The service was decent, but nothing exceptional. As locals, we likely won't return, which is disappointing because the hotel itself is beautiful and in a fantastic location. We've tried Merretts multiple times over the years, but we've never been particularly impressed.
