Lovely café on summit of Mt Lofty. It was very cloudy and a freezing cold day when we went up, but on a fine clear day the views would be spectacular. The modern and spacious café was lovely and warm. I enjoyed my coffee and the scrambled eggs were fluffy and delicious. Good service too. We had a pleasant browse in the adjoining gift shop, which has some really nice merchandise. View all feedback.

Biked up the hill with a mate and was perhaps not the most elegant of diners (my friend was in flaming Yellow so as not to be missed by cars) and had a decent enough cakes though the coffee was really bad - that said, service was a bit on the slow side and even if we were dressed a bit loudly it took quite a long time to "find us." We frequent the Summit Cafe several times a year. It is not pretentious, has a casual atmosphere with great service. We usually book a table and are welcomed upon arrival by the friendly staff. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Many items on the menu are made in house, as are several of the desserts, all are presented to a high standard. In fact, if we are too full from the mains, we often take dessert home to have later. The only downside, if there is one, is that you have to queue to order/pay at the counter along with other customers who may be in for takeaway food/drinks. Sometimes it's quite busy, but the queue moves along fairly quickly. The views are stunning. It's a great venue to take visitors to show them the sights of the city whilst enjoying a lovely food experience. Would recommend.
There are terrible acoustics but stunning views, which make this cafe a popular destination for tourists. But our visit was ruined by a table of 12 on our left including five out-of-control young children and a party of six on our right mum, dad, grandparents and two out-of-control children who yelled, screamed and ran around like lunatics for the duration of our visit. We asked the staff if they could politely ask the parents to stop the kids running around, but nothing was said nor done, leaving us to drop the odd 'death stare ' at a parent, especially when one little darling started running behind our table, squeezing in between my father 's chair and the window, jolting him as he was eating. We were three generations seeking a casual dining experience; had we wanted to be surrounded by screaming children we would have gone to McDonalds. Nevermind, the mums and dads next to us tucked in to the bubbles and were happily talking house prices as chaos reigned around them. The food was nothing special and it was expensive but this is not a place to go for the food, it 's the view and the destination so our expectations were low. It was expensive $27 for a burger! and the chips that accompanied it were of the frozen, industrial variety which was disappointing. Still, had it not been for the chaos of other people 's children, we would have enjoyed our experience. Some advice from a Gen X parent to Millennial parents: it is possible to bring up your children to sit at restaurant tables quietly and without leaving their chairs with a little imagination and some effort. FFS you 're not the only one dining in the restaurant and if your kids can 't be quiet then don 't take them anywhere. That is all.
Great food, well presented. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Bit pricey but not over the top. Lovely place to enjoy the views.
We stopped at Mt Summit on the Indian Pacific tour. It was a great visit and the food was excellent. The view is spectacular and the staff very friendly and efficient, especially the Graces a great stop at any time for a wonderful coffee and view of the city
The Hills Connection Group had a wonderful lunch at The Summit Cafe today. The food was excellent and the menu choices were wide and varied. The atmosphere was exceptionally friendly and helpful and we really felt welcomed and valued. We enjoyed out lunch so much we have booked the groups Christmas lunch at the Cafe. The up comping Christmas lunch menu sounds wonderful and we know we will have as great an experience at Christmas as we enjoyed today. A big thank you to Andrew, Kerry’s and Alex for making our lunch today such and enjoyable occasion. See you again soon.
