Rucola - Chiltern
Rucola
Description
In the culinary landscape, this restaurant presents a mixed bag of experiences. While some patrons delight in the warm service and innovative dishes, such as the avocado and prawn appetizer or the tender duck in orange sauce, others lament poor service and unsatisfactory meals. Reports of unprofessional staff behavior and excessive service charges mar its reputation, overshadowing the positive feedback about friendly servers and enjoyable sweets, like the unique bread and butter pudding. Despite its appealing menu, inconsistent dining experiences have left several guests disillusioned, prompting warnings to potential diners. The establishment is undeniably polarizing, leaving patrons divided.

Loves this local restaurant and all involved. always greeted with enthusiasm by the owner nicki and enjoy a sympathetic time eating great eating fine weeping. an excellent place.
Very nice after a long hike with my girlfriend we needed a relaxing dinner, and boy did this place deliver amazing food, excellent staff and lovely atmosphere. Only thing was had to pay a quite hefty amount we had to payfor vegetables, that we were not told were extra with meat. Just like from the sweet trolly had a couple of strawberries with cream that cost £8.40. Overall, it is a lovely and outstanding restaurant! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Just came back from lunch from this restaurant and I feel extremely underwhelmed. The food, whilst not bad, was ruined by the very poor customer service. I found the staff to be very distant and felt like I was a burden by asking for something as simple as another drink. When it came to the end of the meal, we challenged the service charge as we genuinely didn't feel this was deserved. I always tip generously where its due, but rudely and abruptly demanding my order from me, unable to even smile does not warrant an additional £20. The food was nice, apart from being charged £5.50 to add a chicken breast to a bowl of pasta. Then having informed them of the decision to not pay the service charge on a £140 lunch, we were told to not come back as they wouldn't serve us again due to not paying the service charge. Nice food but they need to do better as I will happily never return. and with only 3 tables of customers for lunch, they obviously can't afford to be that rude. Should have gone to wenzels.
