The restaurant has a great rooftop with an international beer selection and tasty food. However, some reviews mention service issues and unimpressive presentations. Despite the complaints, there are positive comments on the whiskey, beer, brunch, and cozy atmosphere. Overall, the rooftop is said to be incredible with well-spaced seating and fantastic service. The British pub offers delicious meat pies, chips, and cocktails, earning a comparison to another top dining spot in the city. In conclusion, the restaurant seems to have mixed reviews, with some patrons enjoying the experience while others are left disappointed.
The rooftop at this restaurant is absolutely incredible! We visited for the first time since moving here about a month ago, and even during the pandemic, they had the rooftop set up beautifully, with well-spaced seating, a mobile menu, and fantastic service. Based on our experience, we will definitely be back, not just because we live only 2 minutes away.
Club member will be my next goal for this place. I had a great time there. Not just a so much whiskey that I can learn but food was a culinary delight, in taste and presentation!!!! I love meats and cheese board. Mussels roasted garlic with white wine also top of the line. Service was warm and welcome too.
A great place for whiskey, beer, and (as I've just learned) BRUNCH! Very chill, no wait, extraordinary chicken and waffles, very good coffee. Beautiful food all around.
I had a few dates here before I met my wife and continued to enjoy it with her. This place has always been one of my favorite spots in the city, so I was truly heartbroken to learn that it had closed down. I even moved closer to it, being one of those homebuyers during the COVID surge, but unfortunately, the establishment didn't make it through the pandemic. I do appreciate their little market, but it just doesn't have the same charm as the actual gastropub did. If there’s any chance of a comeback, I hope the owners will reconsider.
I'm really sad to hear that Fountainhead is closing. I've been a regular for six years now, and when I found out they would be shutting down in mid-November, I quickly made a reservation for their rooftop. As always, I was not disappointed. I decided to indulge in some ten-year-old Whistle Pig whisky—why not, right? The cheeseburger was cooked to perfection, just the way I like it, medium. I loved that they served the cheese sauce in a little creamer pourer; it allowed me to be precise with how much I used, making every bite just right. The mussels had a nice kick to them, which was a pleasant surprise since my friend who joined me doesn't like spicy food. This meant I could really dig into the mussels, broth, and bread without having to share! The service was fantastic as well. I appreciated the contactless ordering and payment options through my phone due to COVID. If you get the chance, visit Fountainhead before they close for good. Their spirits menu is among the best in the city, and I will truly miss this place when they shut their doors.
