Everest - Chicago
Everest
Description
Everest offers a mixed dining experience. The food, though well-seasoned and perfectly cooked, falls short of Michelin star quality. The service received mixed reviews, with some diners praising the attentive staff and others criticizing slow service. While the ambiance and view were generally lovely, some guests were disappointed by the obstructed views. The wine pairing selections were underwhelming due to the glassware used. With a high price point that many felt didn't justify the overall experience, Everest's impending closure will leave diners with fond memories of its wonderful cuisine and service.

Fantastic French cuisine. we enjoyed the lobster, the Fois grass (best I have)! and the scallops for the starter. the duck was excellent. excellent service and view of west chicago. highly recommended.
We found this restaurant wonderful. server were friendly and attentive and completely unpretentious with our asking why the spoon had a delle in it. we enjoyed a beautiful jubilee meal here and appreciate the variety without excess portions and the traditional note of amuse bouche and sorbet before dessert. I love this style of traditional French cuisine and wish to always taste it.
In a word: outstanding. we have had luck eating here twice, and both meals were absolutely fabulous. service could not be better, wine selection is great, cocktails excellent, and eating? After our meal we have to meet and talk to chef jean joho and greet paul haeberlin in illshaeusern, frankly. the view from above is spectacular, look to the west, but the tables next to the windows seem to be booked before us when we make plans. otherwise I will let these photos speak for myself.
In one word: OUTSTANDING. We have had the pleasure of dining here twice, and both experiences were absolutely fantastic. The service was impeccable, the wine selection was excellent, the cocktails were superb, and the food? Ooh La La! After our meal, we had the opportunity to meet and chat with Chef Jean Joho, and we passed along greetings from Paul Haeberlin in Illhaeusern, France. The view from up high is breathtaking, particularly looking west, although the tables by the windows seem to be in high demand and booked well in advance. Otherwise, I’ll let these photos speak for themselves.
We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they were incredibly down-to-earth when we asked about the dent in one of our spoons. We celebrated our anniversary here and truly enjoyed the meal, appreciating the variety of dishes without overwhelming portion sizes. The traditional touches, such as amuse bouche and sorbet before dessert, added to the charm. I adore this style of classic French cuisine and hope it continues to thrive.
