Bad coffee in south east london. I want to love this place. it is comfortable near my apartment, has free wlan and a pretty little garden. but the coffee is terrible. it's so bad that last time I could take a coffee from which I tipped it down: it tasted like the coffee machine hadn't been cleaned during the day, and was so weak and watery that I had a nicer cup if I had just made it home. will not go back, very disappointed.
Anderson Co is a café on Peckham’s epicentre of localism and loveliness, Bellenden Road. Shrewdly for a trailblazer in a nascent area, they cover off multiple functions like bakery (sourced from Blackbird round the corner), brunch place, coffee hotspot, deli items and plenty of sweet stuff for the afternoon crowd. We came to the area not in search for lunch but found this place by chance. Delicious freshly prepared food amazing range of pastries and cakes. Plenty of gluten free options. A calm atmosphere in spite of how busy and popular it was. Good service....Will come again.
Yes I recommend the experience. Don’t be deceived by the small frontage of the cafe! It goes back a long way ending in an air conditioned conservatory. Excellent coffee and cake range. I ,however , went for the delicious salmon egg benedict . The bread...selection looked tempting. The place teams with friendly efficient staff with big smiles. Good place for small groups of friends to meet up for elevenses. Zimmer frames can make it through to the back. I will go again when in the area. Friendly and bigger than you expect. Perfect breakfast.
Had brunch with a friend at Anderson Co today. We are regulars who live in the area and like to support local businesses. However after the unbelievably rude, patronising and passive aggressive service we received from the female manager owner we won’t be...returning. We politely requested the waitress to replace the the cremated, inedible bacon and also asked if I could change my dish for something else as avocado on toast with poached egg was massively underwhelming. It contained a few slices of unripe avocado, and a measly portion of halloumi which was raw on one piece of toast for £8.5. My request to change my order was a completely reasonable request considering how disappointing the food was and there was no need for the manager to be so unbelievably rude and patronising when servicing us. It’s the worst service we have ever received and the manager should be embarrassed at her lack of manners and terrible customer service.
