Always GREAT Review of As Eiras Costa da Morte Pending review Being a great enthusiast of the ‘Costa Da Morte’, I look forward to experiencing new sights, sounds, and FOOD every chance I get. A staple event for me and my family has always been to experience a great dining experience at AS EIRAS, in the picturesque town of Lires, Cee. Dining at AS EIRAS is a fail proof, and always greatly satisfying experience. And, from what I can tell, the news is spreading, as more clients are making a stop at this establishment. AS EIRAS is also a stop for adventurers of the CAMINO de SANTIAGO (The WAY); It is part of the MUXIA FISTERRA leg of the famous trek. It is wonderful to see all the ambiance of young and not so young adventurers hovering about the AS EIRAS Inn. Let’s get back to the wonderful experiences we have had dining at AS EIRAS. The traditional Galician dishes are spot on. Don’t forget to try the Calamares (Squid), Pulpo (Octopus), and Navajas (Razor Clams), Percebes (Barnacles). They have a daily menu with plenty of variety. The wine selection is also very good. By the way, my daughter is completely obsessed and addicted by the Carne Asada (when available) served at this establishment. I did some preparational research this year, prior to going to AS EIRAS on their facebook page which convinced us to order the STEAK, or as they call it, Chuleton de Vaca Vieja. Simply said, it was unbelievable. The flavours, the tenderness, and the presentation are true talking points. Did I say, it was unbelievably good…. I complimented Pablo, the manager, on the fantastic dining experiences our family have had at AS EIRAS. He told me that the key recipe is ‘QUALITY’ and he would never jeopardize that. Makes sense Keep it up!!
Fried eggs and Serrano ham with hunks of fresh bread to dip in the beautifully cooked yolks. Washed down with cafe con leche. Good service despite being quite busy plus service with smiles. A great way to start the last stage of our walk to Muxia.
The restaurant has a huge sunny terrace where it is wonderful. The lids are abundant and very good. the waiter was very friendly. place very frequented by the pilgrims. I totally recommend it.
We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner while we made an overnight stop while walking the Camino to Muxia. The food was consistently good. Wine and beer were also available. You can dine inside or outside on the porch. I believe there is also a dining room in back but we ate in the front of the restaurant and had a large delicious salad and great calamari. This is a very popular place to stop for a break or over night, about halfway between Finisterre and Muxia.
