Recently refurbished in January 2016, it features a brand new sun lounge with floor to ceiling sliding doors for summer, and two log fires for a cosy winter vibe. It is the only hostelry north of Lancaster with a full aspect and picket-fenced terrace alongside the canal, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere year-round.

Canal turn, carnforth, beautiful environment on the river with a series of wild life. the swans with their 8 cygnets. very good reception by laura, very attentive and professional. tell us the daily specialties and only a court not available. it didn't matter how the steak was fantastic. will definitely return and try the sun roast.
The atmosphere was good, eating was excellent and the view along the canal was perfect.
Booked for special meal for friends traveling 60 miles. Not opened at 1.00 for 1.15 booking and no food was told today. I had a confirmed booking that I showed I had a confirmation. Very unhappy. I'll never go again. I wanted to talk to someone later. I left two messages, but ignored. What a business! A really angry person.
