The Hungry Buddha is a hidden gem located in a Canberra shopping center, offering delicious and authentic Nepalese cuisine. The restaurant has received mixed reviews regarding its service, with some customers experiencing slow and lacking service while others have found the staff to be warm and attentive. However, the standout feature of this restaurant is its seriously delicious food, with dishes like MoMo chicken dumplings and mountain eggplant receiving rave reviews. The menu offers a variety of options, from Nepalese to other Asian dishes, all of which are full of flavor and well-presented. The establishment is fully licensed with a moderate cellar, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a special family occasion. Despite a few service hiccups, The Hungry Buddha seems to be a favorite among those who appreciate great food in a cozy setting.
What Noemy Prosacco likes about The Hungry Buddha:
We started with two of the interesting entrees. The MoMo or chicken dumplings with special tomato sauce were delicious and the spicy corn was also good. I chose the lamb curry and my partner chose the eggplant dish. Both were nicely spiced and very tasty. Accompaniments were quite cheap. It is fully licenced with a moderate cellar. View all feedback.
What Harley Roberts doesn't like about The Hungry Buddha:
Went there with a group and got the banquet. Service was slow, waited long time for entree and also then the main. Virtually no service, no one came to top up our water or ask if we wanted more drinks or even coffee/tea or desserts. We had to approach for the bill as we were just left at the table waiting for someone to clear the table or offer us more service. Food was nothing special. Would not go back. View all feedback.
