Sushi Kawa in downtown Calgary is a local hub with nice, but not exceptional, food. The service is attentive and friendly, and the restaurant vibe is pleasant. The sashimi is fresh and properly prepared, but the selection of drinks could be better. The lunch special is a great deal, and takeout is fantastic. The takoyaki and fried squid are standouts, and the sushi is well-sized and delicious. The restaurant itself is roomy with sweet staff. Despite the lack of a "wow" factor, Sushi Kawa is a solid choice for sushi in central Calgary.

I enjoy going here for lunch on my days off. The lunchbox special is reasonable, the items varied and are always fantastic. I have yet to go for dinner, but can;t wait to grab a group and go. Lunch is easy alone. View all feedback.
