Poutine is a Canadian love affair and it is something I have missed after leaving Canada. When I saw poutine on the menu, I had to order it. What I received was not poutine but an imitation. Don't get me wrong, it was good but missing was the melting cheese curds, but replaced with a whole lot of onions. Cheese curds and thick gravy is what makes a poutine a poutine. Poutine is a beloved Canadian dish that I've missed since leaving Canada. When I saw it on the menu at Demi's Poutine's, I had to try it. Unfortunately, what I got wasn’t true poutine but more of an imitation. Don’t get me wrong, it was tasty, but it lacked the essential melting cheese curds and instead had a lot of onions. The defining features of poutine are cheese curds and thick gravy—without those, it just isn’t poutine. I ordered poutines and two burgers, but the burgers never arrived. The poutines were delivered, but the taste was just average. Service was delivery.
They served me a raw burger—completely uncooked! I’m having to cook the meat myself. I would not recommend ordering here.
