This is a pretty basic kind of restaurant which has sit in and takeaway meals. The food was typical and tasty. My beef Rendang was very tasty. A good no frills experience. View all feedback.
What Clodovea Ferri dislikes about Bagus Cafe Cairns City:
My husband and I had lunch here last weekend. I had looked on line at the menu beforehand but it must be quite dated as all the food items were at least a few dollars dearer then advertised on the website. Tl;dr:, Delicious and highly affordableMalay cooking and good Indonesian food are surprisingly difficult to come by in Brisbane, so I was delighted to discover Bagus in Cairns. This is Indonesian warung-style food, and while the menu is not very big, what is there is done well. The Malaysian in me was happy, the spice lover in the boyfriend was happy, plus the boss is one of the most cheerful people I'd met.My only complaint is that the sambal isn't spicy enough, but looking around me at the number of people that have left it alone, I can understand why the heat was tuned down.
Quite an unassuming little restaurant with a lovely man operating the front of house. The food was delicious and I would recommend this resturant to anyone and everyone
Very friendly owners/staff with traditional menu along with some western style to cater for all family members. Highly recommend as a regular place to eat....
The Bagus Cafe is an awesome and authentic Indonesian street food cafe in Cairns. Small, not many tables all crammed together adds to the authenticity. However the food is what draws crowds. Cheap, fast and full of flavour this place is now my favourite eating spot in Cairns (second is the Bayleaf Indonesian restaurant. See the theme? Haha).
