Maes Manor restaurant has sparked a wave of mixed reviews, with many recent visitors expressing disappointment over both food quality and service. Formerly a beloved dining spot, it now struggles with unappetizing meals and inattentive staff. Diners reported greasy, tasteless dishes and long waits with incorrect orders, leaving special occasions marred by hapless service. While a handful of patrons enjoyed decent meals and good hospitality, the overall sentiment suggests a decline in standards that has deterred many from returning. For those seeking a reliable dining experience, Maes Manor may not meet expectations, warranting caution for potential guests.

This restaurant is frequented by both hotel guests and visitors from outside the hotel. During our visit, we noticed several regular customers, which was a positive sign. The service was excellent and the food matched the menu descriptions, which offered a nice variety of options. Overall, it was a perfect dining experience. View all feedback.

This was once the best place in the area. The Maes Manor has gone down hill over recent years but my Wife still wanted to go as it holds some good memories. Food was nothing short of awful, very overpriced and the service was delivered by rude children in gruby uniforms. Don't drive past Mcdonalds, you would have a much better meal in more pleasant surroundings.
I have never felt compelled to write a review, but having experienced an appalling evening at the Maes Manor restaurant I felt it necessary. Having waited an hour and 15 minutes for 8 starters, only 6 were delivered along with an incorrect drinks order, the most comical being a disarano and coke served in a pint glass full of coke! (I must also add that vegetarians beware... I was advised that the soup of the day was Leek, but when it arrived it was quite clearly chicken and leek!!! . One of our party had the starter whipped away before finishing with such speed that a knife was dropped in their lap. There was then added confusion with the main course as the wrong orders had been processed, and only 4 of the 8 meals were correct. After two hours of waiting for our meals and experiencing the dreadful attitude and incompetence of the staff, who on three occasions brought me chicken, asking if I was sure I hadn 't ordered it, when I had explained that I ordered lamb, we finally decided not to re-order as the occasion was already ruined. The restaurant manager was most obliging and clearly embarrassed at the continuing farce. However, senior management were not so understanding and had advised us that other customers had enjoyed their meals and experienced good service. I can not comment on the standard of food, having waited two hours and not receiving my meal, only experiencing a meat version of 'Leek ' soup. I can however comment on the sub-standard service of the waiting staff and the attitude that we were faced with when trying to explain about the bad service we had received. Disappointing evening, dreadful service and attitude and a special occasion ruined due to sheer incompetence.
I recently visited the hotel for a Christmas gathering with my family during the holiday season. It had been a while since my last visit to Maes Manor, but I was looking forward to tasting the delicious food that had always been served to us. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed this time. The food was decent, but the service was terrible. It took 30 minutes and a trip to reception for my order to be taken. Despite promises of an apology and a complimentary drink for the wait, neither ever arrived. The waiter didn't show up until the food was ready, and we were rushed into the restaurant as if we had been forgotten. The starters arrived as we were still settling in with our coats. On a previous visit, my coat had been taken and hung up for me. The food was satisfactory, but a staff member accidentally spilled soup on my aunt's leg. We laughed it off, but it must be difficult to serve others in that manner, especially considering the young age of the server. After our meal, some of us wanted cheese and biscuits, and we were recommended an expensive port. However, the port never arrived, and we were surprised to see it listed on the bill. After some confusion, it was removed, yet this was presented as a goodwill gesture. Despite my family's past enjoyment of Maes Manor, it seems like something has changed and it is not living up to its usual standards and reputation. I probably won't be returning unless I hear of improvements. Overall, I was a disappointed customer.

Old, smelly, dirty and grubby who is in charge of this place he/she should be sacked! the beef dinner was the worst i 've ever had greasy, tasteless, fatty beef with undercooked veg and an 'organgy ' tasting foul gravy disgusting! The lager tasted like water. All in all, avoid this overrated dump at all costs the people that have wrote good reveiws on this hellhole must be blind and have lost their taste buds!
