The Black Whale restaurant on City Island, reopened in 1998, aims to continue the tradition of the infamous Black Whale of the 60s and 70s while updating the restaurant to serve today's needs. The atmosphere remains casual and romantic with a brick-paved outdoor patio decorated with beautiful fountains. Our menu offers an extensive selection of contemporary American cuisine, including pastas, meats, and seafood, to cater to every taste. From a thick slice of meatloaf with mashed potatoes to a seared sesame crusted tuna steak with ginger orange sauce, we have dishes for both hearty appetites and those seeking lighter fare. Top off your meal with our decadent homemade warm apple crisp or an Orange Frizz (a creamsicle without the stick!). The Black Whale also offers lunch, dinner, and a Sunday brunch buffet, as well as banquet facilities for up to 100 people and a private party room for smaller special occasions.
