I'm writing in late February: the MPavilion has just closed down after its summer season; watch out for its reappearance next spring. Just stop by in the morning and take a coffee while enjoying the birds. The MPavilon is a summer institution of Melbourne. Each summer a new pavilion is build, and the old ones get donated to the city to be used in other parks. Nice modern art project. They also organize many activities.
Great little place hidden in the Botanic gardens. Perfect for families for coffee and a relaxing place to chill out from the Melbourne heat.
